Besides preparing and implementing e-Government projects funded by the Ministry of Information Technology, EGD also provides technical support to federal

Brief Description:
The EGD experts studied the existing process of operations at national savings center and their controlling as well as support offices. In consultation with the officers of Directorate of National Savings a PC-1 was prepared to implement a pilot project to implement automation of one module of the entire network of national savings centers. The Directorate of National Savings is implementing the project with their own resources.

Brief Description:
At the desire of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EGD prepared PC-1 to establish co-coordinated websites of different missions. The website will contain databases for universal use as well as for specific requirements of individual countries.

EGD worked in close co-ordination with the Law & Justice Division as well as the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan for the automation of judicial processes under the Access to Justice Plan. |

Brief Description: The main focus of the PASC Project was to enable senior government officers, undergoing training at the college, to develop IT skills for the new operating environment of E-Government in 21st century. The project had been approved by Ministry of Information Technology and implemented by the college. |

Brief Description:
EGD is also thankful for the cooperation that it received form the Central Zakat organization in order to streamline the system of disbursement of Zakat and automate the same to bring efficiency, speed and transparency in zakat disbursement operations. In co-operation with the central zakat establishment RFPs have been prepared to outsource the project.

Managing the development of Project Evaluation System (PMES) |

Brief Description:
Planning Division is in process of developing the "Project Management Evaluation System". The development of software is funded through a separate TA of Asian Development Bank (ADB). The software development is outsourced to an independent company while the project is managed by the IT staff of Planning Division. EGD strengthened the management of project through providing a complete project plan, specifically, which deliverables are required in which phase of system development. Moreover, EGD also verified the whole set of deliverables required in macro phase of software development for efficient development and deployment of software.

Modeling of as-is Debt Management Business Processes |

Brief Description:
On request of Economic Affairs Division (EAD), EGD provided technical support and guidelines for modeling the debt management processes to identify the functional gaps in existing Debt Management System, running at EAD. In addition, EGD provided a complete roadmap for streamlining the whole system.

Brief Description:
After the October 8, 2005 earthquake there was an urgent need to help the Federal Relief Commission to develop and host a Web Site detailing the amount of devastation that had taken place in the earthquake affected areas. On request of Federal Relief Commission EGD participated with a number of local software companies in order to develop and host a web site that aimed to highlight the amount of devastation in the earthquake affected areas and for local and international communities to make donations for the cause.

Donor's Conference Web Site |

Brief Description:
On November 19, 2005 International Donor's Conference was held in Islamabad in order to take Grants and Loans for October 8, 2005 earthquake victims in Pakistan. Electronic Government Directorate was instructed by Economic Affairs Division to assist in the design, development and hosting of a web site to provide all information related to International Donations and areas where the donations will be utilized. Electronic Government Directorate staff, within a very short time, designed and developed the web site for Donors Conference. The site was presented and approved by Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Internal Communications & Movement of Files Module |

Brief Description:
On the request of chairman PTA to that effect, undertook the responsibility to deploy the automation system of "Internal Communication and Electronic Movement Of Files". The onerous responsibility was accepted in Dec 2005. The entire solution was deployed at PTA within a period of four months and as a result of that PTA has become the first organization where the internal communications on paperless office
environment
has been made possible.
